Hey sweet friends. I am so happy to share my Christmas home decor with you. I know, I know. I am that person. It has been up for two weeks. I have to admit that I did not go all out this. I actually scaled WAY back. Do not worry, I am not turning into a ba humbug, Ebenezer Scrooge. In fact I would actually love to be putting up more, however this year I just can’t. Life is in a bit of an area of uncertainty for us at the moment…

Hey friends. Its officially FALL, but the decorating over here started a few weeks ago. I am not surprised though. I jump the gun on it every year. Fall refreshes my spirit. The season changes here do a terrible number to my allergies, but fall seems to affect me the least. Maybe that has something to do with my happy mood, but I LOVE fall. I love the colors and the scents. I love the pumpkins and cozy sweaters. I love…

Hey sweet friends. I am finally getting around to sharing my beauty room Vanity. As one of the most used areas of my home (I spend TOO much time here), I wanted this space to inspire me. I wanted my beauty desk to feel clean and neat but mostly pretty. I also wanted a desk that is easy to clean and keep clean. Since this is where I put on my makeup, I wanted a clean neat area. I am not a minimalistic decorator so to speak, but I do like it for my vanity. I tend to make the biggest messes with

My house has not transformed much this spring. I am not feeling the usual seasonal update. Right now, I am all about my own style and what feels good to me. I am in to woods and whites and a cozy cottage feel. I think sometimes I get so caught up in keeping up with the trends that I end up losing my own flare. I am trying to make it my goal to stop that. That is why, right now, you are not seeing me do some dramatic spring overhaul. I like these tones. It feels warm and cozy to me, and makes me so happy to be at home. What are your plans for your home this spring? Are you keeping it simple or going for a trend?

Hey, friends. Come on in, welcome to my living room. Christmas has come to my house in classic Christmas decor form. Thats right. I went with a "classic" or "traditional" look this year. I named it Santa's lodge. If you saw my Christmas decor last year, then you know that I went all neutral. No color. I absolutely loved my decor last year. I thought I would just completely copy it again this year, but Jereme told me that he wanted me to put red back in.

Hey! I have a quick update post for you today. I switched our bedroom with my beauty room. I thought that it made better use of the space. You know me. Always and forever rearranging everything. So you know I had to give you peak. Once I get things a little more in order/replace some pieces, I will make a full a post about the whole room. I also finally finished the boardwalk painting, and I haven't shown it off yet. So that is a bonus. (If you are interested, you can see what the room looked like before I changed it HERE.)
I kept with the same theme as before; the beach compromise theme. Jereme likes a beach themed room and I like... other things. Ha. The only thing I so wish I could add would be fresh greenery. I LOVE greenery. I just haven't figured out a way to keep it in a way the cats can't destroy. The eat EVERYTHING, even fake plants. My Little Rose is a jumper/climber, so I even feel that hanging greenery would be a no go.
I love to thrift, re-purpose, up-cycle, and hand-make as much as I can when it comes to decor. Things such as the rosette garland, the scripture paintings, and the chair were all products of that. I think that it personalizes the space so much more than just buying what is in style. I painted the scripture signs before I knew anything about hand lettering. I know that I could do so much better now, but they have been with us since our first apartment together, so I don't want to get rid of them. In the last post, I mentioned how I made the paper rosette garland and I snapped the whole process of me recovering the chair. Pro-tip: use drop cloth. It is durable, easy to clean, and inexpensive. It looks great too. Another pro-tip, get a fluffy cat. They make everything better. Ha.
I know I have said it before, but I love to use natural textures in my decor. Most of which you will NOT find at a big box store. Like my stump side "table" and my old window "headboard". I had a tiny problem though. There are no drawers on the stump. I don't know about you, but I keep a lot of "junk" by bed. I like my room to be functional. At the same time I do not like seeing the packages of face wipes, creams, and "junk", that one would usually keep beside a bed, out in the open. So I used the trunk to hide it all. I call it my treasure trunk. I like hiding the functional side of the room. It just looks better and helps keep you organized.
I have linked some of the bedroom basics below that can help to recreate this feel for your own space. I know a ton of if can't be bought, but I hope my room has inspired you none the less. Even if this is totally not your style, I hope it helps you to think outside of the box. I certainly do. Thank you so much for stopping by.
I finally finished the boardwalk painting. I love waking up to a little glimpse of beach every morning.
See, get a cat. It makes everything better.

Hey loves. I have a fun weekend project for you today. I have been eye-balling a few of the prettiest dream catchers on the inter-webs lately. I have just been drooling over them. I decided that it was just what I needed to frame my t.v. So I started looking them up. I thought I would just find two off of Etsy and...

Hey, dolls. I am SO happy to finally be sharing some of my home with you. I was reluctant to show you for a long time, half out of fear of not being good enough and half out of embarrassment that it isn't where I want it to be. I have had to come to terms with that ridiculous notion. I have since realized that I have a home to be proud of and that there are people who seriously don't even have a...
