Hey, friends. Come on in, welcome to my living room. Christmas has come to my house in classic Christmas decor form. Thats right. I went with a "classic" or "traditional" look this year. I named it Santa's lodge. If you saw my Christmas decor last year, then you know that I went all neutral. No color. I absolutely loved my decor last year. I thought I would just completely copy it again this year, but Jereme told me that he wanted me to put red back in. He said that he feels like Christmas needs red, so I did that. What I came up with is hands down my favorite so far, especially our tree.
I wanted everything to be cozy and classic and like a room you might find in a lodge; Santa's Lodge. I worked everything around the black and white Aspen ornaments. Those are my favorite thing about the tree this year and the first things I picked out. I love the contrast of the print with the red plaid bows. Oh, it just all makes me so happy. I threw in similar print pillows on the opposite side of the room to balance it out.
I wrapped a chunky knitted scarf around my huge vase. I think it makes it feel so cozy.
I love making huge classic bows for the tree. They makes such a statement.
This year, I wanted to play up the Santa theme. What is one of the first things you thing of, when you think of Santa? It's his Naughty and Nice list of course. I made these cute lists out of brown craft paper. They were so easy to make. All you have to do is cut strips, roll and tape the ends, write the names, and viola. Lists. You do the same for the huge lists, only everything is much bigger. I made nice lists and not naughty lists. You see what I did there? Ha. Although they may be simple, they sure do make a huge statement on the tree and in the room. Don't you think? As you probably already know, I love D.I.Y and crafting. Last year I made the topper (read about it HERE), and this year I made lists for on and off the tree.
All The Shopping Deets:
I strictly want to focus on the Christmas decor. You can see furniture/blankets/pillow details in my previous posts. Most of the decor was linked in my Christmas post last year HERE, however I have added quite a few things this year. All of the floral stems I used on the tree are from Micheal's. I always wait until they are half off. I just love the element that they bring to the tree. I got my huge gold ornaments from Hobby Lobby. I have collected the owls (that I use for ornaments) for several years now. Some are from Micheal's. Some are from Hobby Lobby. There are two from Big Cedar Lodge. A good time to get those is during the fall decoration sales at Micheal's. The large yarn ball ornaments are from Hobby Lobby. They are in store only. I got the small Reindeer pillow from the Target dollar section a few years ago. We made all of the wood signs.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I am so so grateful! If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. Or if this post inspired something in your decor, please send me pics or tag me when you post.
Love always,
Sarah
