Hi sweet friends, we just had our baby shower for our sweet Daisy and it was no doubt a dream come true. I am so excited to share it with you. I have been looking forward to this baby shower since we found out that she was a girl. I may I have had Pinterest boards even longer though. (Like since three years ago, but who’s counting anyways. Ha.) I never really have many personal opportunities to have large celebrations, so I jumped at this one. Life is to short and unpredictable to not celebrate when you have the chance. Having this baby is certainly something to celebrate about, and celebrate we did.
First, I want to thank everyone who came. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Even if you couldn’t make it, but you called, or text, or DM’d me, thank you for the thoughts and wishes. It is so special to see that so many came together to shower love on our Daisy baby. It truly means so much to me. There is no doubt that she is loved by so many already. Thank you each and every friend and family member. I love you all, you made my day so special.
The shower was perfect in every way, but it could not have happened without my TRULY amazing mama-in-law Hope. I have to say a special thank you to her for loving us so much. We love love love you! Thank you for your hard work. It is so special to me, more than you can ever know. You have the biggest heart of any one I have ever known and your love shines through in every thing that you do. This shower was no exception. I could see love in every single detail and thank you to Pop too. I know he worked so hard too. I am so blessed to have you both.
She went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. I felt like a real life princess. I am not kidding when I say that no one has ever put so much effort into something like this for me. EVER. To me it makes it even all the more special that it is in celebration of our baby. She knows better than anyone else could, that just for me to be pregnant in the first place is such a huge miracle. It was a struggle for me to get to this point in life not only physically, but emotionally as well. I think that may be why she made SURE that we celebrated big. This is such a sweet and special time of life for me and she made this shower reflect that. It could not have better and I could not be more grateful. I am so happy with the way that it all came together. If you would like more in depth details of the shower and how you can recreate it, head over to her BLOG to see her post. She made an amazing post about everything and shared some behind the scenes photos too. You have to check it out. Also if you don’t already, be sure to follow her on Instagram . You don’t want to miss her posts. She is the definition of being more precious than rubies.
Every detail of the shower had so much love in it. From the poster that my sweet niece Kyleigh made to these vintage movie real wreaths that Hope made. As you will see in Hope’s post, much of the decor was hand made to serve a practical purpose too. Hope made these beautiful vintage movie reels wreaths not only for shower decor, but as a special gift for Daisy’s nursery. We made beautiful paper flowers for the same purpose. You will see those throughout the shower.
Another example was this little note box we put together for scriptures and notes to Daisy. It served as a fun little thing to do at the shower, but also will be used in her room. When she is older, we can even use the scripture cards as memory cards, but in the meantime, it just looks really pretty. It was an easy craft to make. I got large cardstock paper and watercolor painted floral designs all over. Then I cut them down to a small note card size and placed them in this cute little wicker box. It turned out so cute. It will be such a special keepsake for her.
One fun thing we used for the shower was this Emacity KIT. It was a one stop shop for some of the party decor essentials, such as this “OH BABY” balloon and tassels. It took care of a little of the co-ordinating hassle for us. It came with garlands, banners, balloons, paper lanterns, decorative straws and more. You will notice that we used pieces all throughout the shower. As for the other balloons in the kit, we partnered it with another balloon garland kit and they were a match made in heaven.
I love the detail of this “Answered prayers” onesie on the mantle. Daisy is nothing shy of an answered prayer for sure. Like I mentioned before, it took a LOT to get here. For so long my heart was in such bad shape. I could not even entertain the thought of having a baby. For a long time I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. A hard heart combined with the pain of past miscarriages left me in a bad place that could only be solved by prayer. Even before I could do it myself, Daisy was no doubt prayed for. Hope prayed me and for her. The Lord answered so beautifully.
In fact our whole story is such a beautiful one. I knew that babies were a gift from the Lord, but they didn’t feel like it to me for most of my life. I hated it about myself that I didn’t want to have this beautiful gift. Once I finally realized that it had to be a heart issue, I began pray for healing from it. First, I prayed to want to have a baby, then I prayed to have one. It wasn’t long at all before the Lord answered those prayers. I just cry when I think about how He so quickly “ANSWERED” that “PRAYER” in such a loving way. He made everything to do with Daisy so lovely. Even down to my pregnancy. He blessed me with a beautiful easy pregnancy thus far. It has been wonderful. He TRULY transformed me and I am so grateful.
Even our food setup was a dream. We had a cute drink set up outside and charcuterie boards and cupcakes inside. It was so pretty that I didn’t even want to disturb it by eating it. I just wanted to admire it. Hope’s bestie Heather also went above and beyond to help with this shower. She brought the beautiful Daisy cupcakes and dip and sent out the beautiful invitations to the shower. I am so grateful for her love too. You can follow her on Instagram too @heatherbuglane. Everyone involved worked so hard and it shows.
There wasn’t a single gift that we received that we want or even better, need. This was such the case, that I could see God’s love in it. He truly provides and it was abundantly clear through the gifts He placed on everyones hearts to give. We received so many beautiful and wonderful and thoughtful gifts. Thank you again.
I had the best shower helpers too. I had my little nephew Everett helping me to open gifts, and my beautiful sister-in-law keeping track of what came from who so that I can send thank you cards. Jereme even helped to open a few gifts. We chose not to go the traditional women only shower. I wanted Jereme and all the other special men in my life to be able to join in the celebration too. I guess I am a little new school in that sense.
I simply had the best time. I may have felt like a chicken running around trying to talk to everyone, but I did have so much fun. I was trying so hard not to let anyone feel left out. Anyways, thank you for stopping by and supporting my blog. I feel so loved. Now, let’s get this baby here. Only four more weeks to go. Please join me in prayer for a smooth labor and delivery and most importantly, a healthy baby Daisy.
