Hello Lovelies, I hope you all had a great weekend. Is anyone else as busy as I have been lately? Graduations, weddings, and showers have literally been consuming so much of my time, I barely have time to clean my own house, let alone make a post. Not to mention, I have a few side projects that I have been working on. I have exciting news to come, but until then, on to the more typical post.
I wore this makeup look to a friends wedding. I created it using products from the brand Flower Cosmetics. I am not a brand snob and I do not have to have high-end products all the time. I can't always afford to drop major bucks on makeup, so I am always on the lookout for inexpensive quality products that will tie me over until I can get what I like. I know so many girlies also have this same issue. Some girlies also just don't like to spend money on makeup because they think it is silly. If you are one of these girls, then this post is for you.
This brand is the birth child of Drew Barrymore, and I actually found out about it through her Instagram. I normally am not very pleased with "celebrity" brands. They just do not hold up to my standards, so naturally I was very skeptical that these too would not really be that great. BUT, I LOVE Drew Barrymore. She is one of my favorite actresses, so I had to show her some love. I only got one product at first, and then every time I would go to Wal-Mart, I would add another and another and another, until, well... I was hooked.
I started with the Flower In Your Prime Perfecting Primer. Immediately, I noticed that I loved the texture and how silky it immediately made my skin feel. I do not necessarily notice a difference in the way that my makeup applies over top, but I do notice that my skin stays hydrated longer. The way that it makes my skin feel is worth the purchase in my book. Next, I got the Velvet Lip Color in the shade Tender Tuberose. I have since added Get to the Poinsettia, Tea Rose, and So Gladiola to my collection. These lipsticks are pure perfection. The name describes them perfectly. They feel so velvety on your lips in the best way. I was not too fond of the lip liner sadly. It seemed to roll up in little balls when I tried to put it on, very dry. I may have just gotten a bad one, however, I added an oil to it and it helped that problem. I may try to purchase some again later to see if maybe I just got a bad one, we will see. I love everything else so much that I can't imagine this product being a bad one.
I purchased the foundation, undereye concealer, and the brush all later. Each product did not disappoint. The foundation gives medium coverage and did not break me out. The breakout factor is a huge deal to me. I keep it in my makeup bag for normal run around type days. It also has a pump. I love that because it eliminates bacteria from getting into the foundation. The brushes are truly little gems. The hairs are so so soft. They make blending so easy. I absolutely recommend them. Lastly, I want to talk about the undereye creme. It is one of my absolute favorite products right now. I saved the best for last. It has a roller ball applicator that although I am not quite fond of it, it is great for on-the-go girlies who need to cut time. It goes on liquid and dries into what feels like a powder very quickly. When I set it, it does not crease or crack. It really does great to brighten up your darks circles and conceal your bags. I don't like a concealer that feels tacky or sticky under my eyes. It really makes me feel uncomfortable, but this product doesn't do that; definitely worth a try.
All in all, I totally recommend these products to those of you looking for a cheaper option. Girls, it is a huge misconception that you have to have the best most expensive products out there to achieve a look. That just isn't true. These prices of this brand are very affordable and the quality has not been skipped out on. I was very shocked by how much I was impressed with them. I really do not think that you will be disappointed. For a "drugstore" brand, it is one of the best. Drew was very committed in the development of these products and I applaud her for them. The packaging is also adorable. Who doesn't appreciate that?
I still have several things that I want to try. Have you tried any of these products, and if so, what do you think? Were you happy with the results? If you end up trying them, let me know what you think, and tag me in your Insta pics. I would love to see your results.
