Hey, darlings. As part of an anniversary gift to me, I conned Jereme into taking several different year three outfit pictures with me, so you are in for a real treat this week. Since I got to shop around with Rue 21, I took the opportunity to style these shoots. I can't wait to share them with you! Our outfits are linked at the bottom of the post.
Nothing brings me more joy than being Jereme's wife. It is so crazy that when I married him, I was totally against the whole idea. I had NO idea what God had in store for me. I had absolutely no idea at what it meant to be wife either, and certainly not in terms of a "biblical" one. It is such a special role that you must honor and cherish.
The Wife Who Fears the Lord
10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
To be honest, most days I fall short of this list, as I am sure that most of us do. But I can tell you that I work constantly to achieve it. I want to be far more precious than rubies. I am here to tell you that it is easy to fall in love. It is no so easy staying in love. It takes work and prayer and lots and lots of love. Hugs and snuggles help too. Every day won't be easy but every day won't be hard either.
I believe that you have the power to make a relationship whatever you want it to be by the effort that you put into it. That is why I choose happiness. Marriage is like so many other things. You get out of it what you put into it. It is what you feed it. If you feed it negativity, that is what you will get out. If you feed it with positivity and goodness, that is what you will get in return.
There is a catch to every good marriage though. God has to be the focal point of both parties. With your sights set on God, the rest will follow. In time, your wants can align with the way we were designed to be. Your marriage CAN be amazing. I hope you work towards that EVERY SINGLE DAY!
I encourage you to do anything that you can to help make your marriage a success. Praying together is a must, even if it is just as meals. That is a good place to start. Pick a bible study or a devotional geared towards bettering your marriage. They are great ways really get to know your spouse and where you stand. I really love "The Power of a Praying Wife[/Husband]". We just started on "The Love Dare" too. I will let you know how it goes.
