Hello, Lovelies. This is not the usual faith or fashion centered post that you may be used to, but I have to tell you about something amazing that happened to Jereme and I. I must also admit whole-heartedly that I do have THE best husband there is. He is without a doubt my prince charming and he goes above and beyond to put a smile on my face. Well, he goes above and beyond to make me so happy that I cry. Yes, I am that girl. I cry, a lot.
If you know much about me, you may know that Jereme and I decided to celebrate our honeymoon at Universal Studios in Orlando. We stayed a week in the Cabana Bay Beach Resort while we enjoyed our trip. Jereme grew up in Florida, so he was no stranger to theme park amusement as his childhood entertainment. Myself, on the other hand, did not have such a blessed childhood. When we got married, he vowed to give me the childhood that I never had. (Side note: He was the first person to ever even take me to Toys "R" Us and I was 22 years old.) And, I must say that he has worked hard to do so ever since.
I can not put into words how much fun we had on this trip both at the park and at the Resort. We did not have a single care in the world and both places treated us like royalty. I am not kidding. They treated us so well. On the trip, we did what we wanted, ate what we wanted, and went where we wanted all on our own time frame. In case you did not know, Cabana Bay is located literally right next to the park. I could see the Hulk Ride from window. Did I mention, that the whole place looked like something out of the past? It is very retro. I felt like I was a Jetson to be honest. The resort was decorated extreme mid-century modern. (Which is right up my alley.) There is even a shuttle bus that runs every ten minutes to and from the park.
We waited until the end of our trip to pick out our souvenirs from the resort. I picked out their signature coffee cup and Jermo got a key-chain and some postcards. The cup turned out to be one of our absolute favorite possessions. It reminds us of one of the most special times we ever had. It was after all, the first trip we ever took alone together.
Well, the week before my birthday, I tripped and broke the cup. I'm not even joking, y'all, I cried and cried about this cup. Devastated does not cover it. Jereme was outside working on his car at the time. I brought him the shattered pieces with huge alligator tears rolling down my face. It broke both of our hearts. Jereme does not like to see me cry either, so to him it was a double whammy. Honestly, I was no good the rest of the day. I even looked to see if there was an online gift shop where I could repurchase it, only to find nothing. (CB If you manage to read this, maybe that could be an addition to the site. [Insert winking emoji here] Hint. Hint.)
Jereme, oh my, he is the sweetest thing. He took the pieces and glued them back together as best as he could just so that I could keep it for show. I know, it is just a cup and most people would not care, but I did. I mean, he did use gorilla glue, and the cup did look pitiful, but that was literally the sweetest thing. It gets better, and maybe more mushy. Without me knowing, Jereme (you sly fox) contacted the resort to see if there was any possible way that they might still have it so that he could replace it. He sent them an email explaining what had happened and how upset I was hoping that he could pay to have one shipped.
A few days later, Jereme told me to be on the look out for a package to come but I was under strict orders to not look at the address. It was so close to my birthday that I knew it was for me but I was certainly not prepared for what showed up in that box. That email he sent must have been really good, because apparently Cabana Bay sent him the cup free of charge even though he insisted on paying. They were even so on top of things there, that someone at Universal called him personally to tell him that they were sending him the cup. He had to tell them no because the Resort already had.
When he gave me the present, he started recording me while I opened it. Usually, that means that I am going to like what it is. I opened the bag and I could not believe it. My heart burst with proof flooding from my eyes. My Jermo had replaced my special cup. Feast your eyes on this reaction. (I know, I look adorable.)
There are not many times that I can truly brag on businesses now days, but I have absolutely no problem doing so when I find one worthy of praise. Universal Studios and Cabana Bay Beach Resort both fit that mold. A few days after I got the cup, I received another package. This time it was from Universal Studios. It was a whole box of souvenirs. They sent a Thermos, a tote bag, a beach towel, another cup, and a personal letter saying that they were happy to give us a spare cup and a few other items. Wow. In Jereme's words, they completely restored my faith in a good business. They sent us the extra stuff even though Jereme had already told them that the cup had already been replaced.
What they do not know, is exactly how special that gift was. When we were there, I wanted the exact beach towel that they sent me so badly. At the time, I couldn't afford to spend the money on it after we had already spent so much on the trip. It was one of those things that always made me sad that I never got. I mean, how amazing is that. They sent the EXACT towel that I wanted. It was a surprise to both of us. I know that the Lord had a hand in this, and that is what I mentioned was my double blessing in my last post.
It is so fun to know that you can bless someone without even knowing it. God uses people even when they do not know they are being used. I am in tears just talking about it. Both Cabana Bay and Universal Studios Orlando, you have blessed my husband and I more than you will ever know, and we can not wait to return. To anyone who is thinking about taking a vacation, I highly, strongly, passionately recommend you take a trip to Universal Studios and that you stay at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort while you are there. You will not be disappointed. The Adventure Awaits. Again, I can not say enough kind words about both places. Please, please, please check them out. I will leave you with some pictures and a little video from our honeymoon trip. Thank you so much for stopping by!
